The Solution

When faced with this demanding task, the contractor, McAleer and Rushe Group, turned to Wavin's drainage solutions. The Wavin Water Retention System Prime geocellular stormwater management unit emerged as the ideal solution for the development. With over 600 Wavin Water Retention System Prime units specified for the project, a 4,240f³ cellular attenuation tank was created below a restaurant, terrace, and entrance café area to effectively manage surface water.

To address the challenge of the sloping site, the Wavin Water Retention System Prime units were installed at varying depths of 1.2m to 1.6m and cleverly clipped together to form a stepped, two-tiered tank. Above the detention tank, a concrete slab was installed for the completion of the café terrace. Additionally, Wavin provided Osma UltraRib 225mm and 300mm structured wall pipes, along with OsmaDrain 160mm drainpipes to handle both foul and surface water drainage.
